YOGA CLASS DESCRIPTION
Our Yoga Classes
Our yoga classes are based on a classical form of yoga from the Sivananda Tradition, you may have heard it called Sivananda Yoga.
This type of yoga class covers breathing exercises (pranayama), sun salutations (surya namaskar), postures (asanas) and deep relaxation (savasana). Its purity is maintained and is taught as per all International Sivananda Yoga and Vedanta centres worldwide. It encompasses a particular structure that will allow the practitioner to then be able to go and practice it on their own at home.
When taught in this way the yoga has a deeply profound benefit for aligning the body physically and mentally.
Drop-in Class - 90 minutes
This is an intermediate level class based on a classical Sivananda Yoga Class. Variations are given for beginners and for advanced practitioners. Open to all levels.
Sunrise Drop-in Class - 60 minutes
A perfect start for the day! Our north facing bamboo panel yoga studio provides an amazing natural light and atmosphere for the perfect practice of yoga. This is an intermediate level class based on a classical Sivananda Yoga Class. Variations are given for beginners and for advanced practitioners. Open to all levels.
Prenatal Yoga - 90 minutes
Yoga exercises adapted for pregnancy. Open to all levels of practice, suitable for beginners. It is advisable to begin classes after the first trimester. Contact the centre for more details.
Free Sunrise Group Meditation - 20 minutes
This is a free and open to all event. It consist of a 20 Minutes silent meditation. This is a great way to start the day! We offer a yoga drop-in class from 6.30am to 7.30am right after the meditation practice.
Our Meditation and Positive Thinking courses provide not only guidelines and techniques to establish a meditation practice and for facing both inner and outer obstacles through an understanding of the transformative power of thought but also an introduction to all the aspects and philosophy of yoga such as vegetarian diet, concentration and more. Courses for different levels - Beginners, Intermediate & Advanced - on fixed days at fixed times. Each course consists of 6 classes once a week. We recommend this option as the regular practice times will help you to develop discipline in your yoga practice. Please note that these are courses and not drop-in classes. Satsangs - Group Meditations
Consists of 20-30 minutes of silent meditation, 45 minutes of mantra chanting, and a talk on Yoga philosophy. Open to all. Special programmes may replace Satsangs from time to time. Please contact the centre to confirm dates and times.
